Job Description

HOYA Surgical Optics (HSO) is expanding in Korea and we are looking for new members to join us as Finance & Admin Manager whom will be based in Seoul, South Korea.

The ideal candidate for this position will need to provide leadership and take ownership of all financial aspects of the business in South Korea. He/She will also be the business partner to the Market Commercial head and support the management team. Besides delivering financial results of the business in South Korea, P&L analysis, support, portfolio strategy and analysis will also be required. The incumbent be responsible to set up robust financial processes, oversee the budgets, forecasts, analysis, Internal audits, ensure timely statutory submissions and solid internal control & compliance via gatekeeping.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly budgets for Korea
  • Analyze the gap of actual financial results vs budget
  • Prepare presentations and analysis for management review
  • Participate in Internal Audit in order to identify and recommend improvements in internal controls, learn and share best practices between legal entities
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of External Audits, Tax submissions and other statutory requirements in Korea
  • Manage day to day accounting activities in accordance with HSO’s accounting polices and procedures, international and local accounting principles. Work very closely with the Global Controller to ensure compliance
  • Ensure healthy balance sheet (AR/AP/Inventory Control)
  • Monitor cashflows requirements for operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory law and HOYA’s corporate rules and regulations
  • Be a solid gatekeeper for Korea, via business partnering with local management and RINGISHO
  • Supervise direct report to ensure excellent work ethic and results, and ensure development plans in place
  • Oversee and co-ordinate matters related with office admin, HR and facility management
  • Any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisors



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant discipline



  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably with some audit experience
