International Congress Highlights Spring 2026
In the first half of the year, HOYA Surgical Optics complemented its presence at profile-building national events like SFO, ÖOG and DOC with participation in international conferences focused on building the advanced technology market. Two such opportunities were Ophthalpreneurs and AECOS.
This year, OPS (Ophthalpreneurs) took place on the island of Sardinia on April 23-26 and once again set the benchmark for business education in private ophthalmology. The event, which is curated by one of the most renowned ophthalmic surgeons and one of our best partners in professional education, Dr. Francesco Carones, was full of high-calibre content, presented lots of real-world insights and built an exceptional platform for peer exchange. Not only did we attend the convention, but we also supported it as a Champion Partner. We are proud of being part of this great initiative that empowers talented surgeons to thrive and help their patients.
Heading from the Italian island to the center of continental Spain, on June 11-14 we were in Madrid to be part of the annual AECOS (American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery). Staying true to its most powerful aspect of community, this year presented ample opportunities to connect with leaders in the world of ophthalmology. The event set the stage for exchange on the latest science and thought-provoking debates, generating positive energy for moving the field forward. Marking the occasion, Dr. Francesco Carones stepped into the well-deserved AECOS Presidency role, on which we congratulated him.
To sum it up, it would not be an overstatement to say that both events reinforced the existing and opened new opportunities for us to deepen our relationships with the ophthalmic community including surgeons, their teams and key opinion leaders of the industry, which is important as we thrive to continue our growth in the ATIOL segment.
