National Congress Highlights Spring 2026
The late spring and early summer congress season was a busy and rewarding time for HOYA Surgical Optics. Between May and June 2026, we participated in three national ophthalmology congresses across Europe — engaging with surgeons, sharing insights, and supporting clinical education.
SFO (the Société Française d'Ophtalmologie) took place on May 9-11 as usual in Paris, France. The 2026 edition of the congress was full of insightful events, such as presentations on the Vivinex™ Gemetric™ trifocal IOL by Prof. Béatrice Cochener-Lamard and Dr. Benjamin Leray, or a filmed surgical procedure performed by Dr. Esther Blumen-Ohana. Adding a celebratory element to the congress was the Award ceremony, at which Dr. Lauriana Solecki and Dr. Manon Esnault received 1st and 2nd SFO prizes respectively for the Best Poster Presentation on the topic of Cataract Surgery. In the end, it was a big success thanks to the contribution from our visitors, partners and organisers.
Less than a week later, it was followed by the ÖOG Congress (Österreichische Ophthalmologische Gesellschaft - the Austrian Ophthalmological Society) on May 14-16 in Schladming, Austria. There, our team joined the country's largest ophthalmology congress, which as always proved to be the central forum for scientific exchange, hands-on training and professional development opportunities. The event included a special highlight as HOYA supported operation of two wet labs, led by our dedicated faculty and the local Tyrolian team of our partners at MTS - The Wetlab Company. To round off the gathering, we also sponsored the Young Investigator Awards granted by the ÖOG jury for the best presentations. We extend our congratulations not only to this year's winners, but also to all our colleagues who made the event happen!
Just a month later on June 18-20, we moved north to Nuremberg, Germany for DOC (the Internationaler Kongress der Deutschen Ophthalmochirurgen) - the international congress of German ophthalmic surgeons. Those three days were filled with innovation, exchange and valuable connections. Using the best opportunity of the packed schedule, we had the pleasure of engaging with our customers, partners and industry colleagues both at the booth and at the Evening Symposium. All for one common goal of advancing ophthalmology and improving patient care.
